Compare a mystery dice and pin pack with a known metal D6 set. Use decision rules on matching sets, duplicates, and gift appeal to pick the right buy.
Quick answer
Choose the mystery loot box if you want a matching metal RPG set plus a surprise enamel pin and can accept duplicates. Choose the 6-piece metal D6 set if you need known blue-and-copper D6s in a tin for a specific game or gift.
What the sealed mystery package changes about your purchase
A mystery dice pack trades certainty for discovery. The Epic Mystery Loot package is sealed, so you cannot pick the metal set or pin inside. The listing shows examples, not a guarantee of the exact set. If you already own several metal RPG sets, the chance of a duplicate is the main risk to weigh.
A single metal dice set removes that risk. The 6-piece Metal D6s in Blue and Copper is a known product: six blue D6s with copper borders and numbers, packed in a metal tin with foam cutouts. You know the color, die type, and storage before checkout.
Matching set vs known die type: which matters for your table
The mystery option contains a 12mm metal RPG set with D4, D6, D8, D10, D%, D12, and D20, plus one random enamel pin. That full polyhedral range suits a player who wants one coordinated set for character play and does not mind 12mm sizing.
The 6-piece D6 set is narrower but more predictable. Six matching D6s help with games that roll pools of six-sided dice, and the metal tin with foam cutouts gives each die a home. Neither product lists die weight, exact metal alloy, or edge style, so do not assume those details from the listings.
Gift appeal and the duplicate problem
For an RPG dice gift box, mystery loot has obvious unwrapping appeal: the sealed package hides both a matching metal RPG set and an enamel pin. That makes it a strong pick for a player new to metal dice or someone who enjoys the surprise itself.
The trade-off is duplication. If the recipient already owns metal RPG dice, a mystery set may repeat a die type or color they have. A known set such as the blue-and-copper D6s avoids that letdown, though it is a narrower gift.
Decision rules for buying mystery loot or a single metal dice set
- If you want a full matching RPG set and a surprise pin: Buy the Epic Mystery Loot: Mini Metal RPG Set + Enamel Pin. It delivers a matching 12mm polyhedral set and one random enamel pin in a sealed package.
- If you already own metal RPG dice and dislike duplicates: Skip the mystery pack and choose a known set such as the 6-piece Metal D6s in Blue and Copper. You avoid the risk of receiving a set you already own.
- If you need D6s for dice-pool games or a tidy table: Pick the 6-piece Metal D6s. Six matching D6s in a foam-lined metal tin keep the dice organized and ready for games that call for multiple six-sided dice.
- If the purchase is a gift for a new metal-dice player: Choose the mystery loot box when the recipient enjoys surprise and does not yet have a metal RPG set. The pin adds a second reveal.
- If you need to know the exact color, die type, or storage before buying: Choose the single metal D6 set. The listing specifies blue dice with copper borders and numbers in a metal tin, while the mystery pack intentionally hides those details.
