Compare the collapsible Pride D20 Snap Tray and the wooden Chromatic Pride Dice Tray on materials, size, portability, and price to choose the right pride dice accessory.
Quick answer
Choose the Pride D20 Snap Tray if you need a packable, budget-friendly tray for gaming on the go; choose the Chromatic Pride Dice Tray if you want a larger, rigid wooden tray that stays put at your home table.
Material and construction: leatherette vs wood
The Pride D20 Snap Tray uses durable leatherette with strong metal snap buttons, so it folds flat and snaps into shape. The Chromatic Pride Dice Tray is made of interlocking MDF wood and UV-printed with bright colors, giving it a solid, rigid feel.
That difference matters most when you travel: leatherette flexes and packs down, while wood holds its shape but takes up more space. Neither is inherently better—pick based on whether portability or a stable, weighty surface matters more to you.
Size and footprint at the table
The Chromatic Pride Dice Tray measures 9" x 6" x 1", which gives you a defined rolling area with raised edges. The Pride D20 Snap Tray's collapsed and assembled dimensions aren't listed, so if exact table footprint is critical, treat that as a limitation and ask before ordering.
For tight tables or shared play spaces, the smaller packed size of the snap tray is an advantage; for a dedicated home setup, the larger wooden tray keeps dice contained and looks intentional.
Price and value
At catalog prices, the Pride D20 Snap Tray is USD 15.00 (compared to USD 20.00), while the Chromatic Pride Dice Tray is USD 32.50 (compared to USD 50.00). The snap tray costs less upfront, but the wooden tray offers a more substantial, furniture-like piece for a permanent table.
If you're buying multiple pride dice accessories for a group, the lower-cost snap tray stretches further; if you want one statement tray, the Chromatic design justifies its higher price through materials and size.
Key trade-offs to weigh
- Portability vs stability: The snap tray folds flat and snaps together, so it slips into a bag; the wooden tray stays assembled and rigid, which is great at home but bulkier to carry. If you commute to games, prioritize the snap tray; if your table is fixed, the wooden tray wins.
- Budget vs statement piece: The snap tray is the lower-cost option at USD 15.00; the Chromatic tray is USD 32.50 and offers a larger, wood construction. Set a budget first—buying two snap trays may cost less than one wooden tray.
- Known size vs unlisted dimensions: The Chromatic tray's 9" x 6" x 1" size is listed; the snap tray's dimensions aren't, so check before buying if space is tight. Measure your table or bag before ordering the snap tray if exact fit matters.
